{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-164.7011","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 164.7011","heading":"Definitions for KRS 164.7011 to 164.7021.","body":"As used in KRS 164.7011 to 164.7021:\n(1) \"Advisory committee\" means the Kentucky Aerospace, Aviation, and Defense\nInvestment Fund Advisory Committee established in KRS 164.7013;\n(2) \"Aviation\" means the operation, maintenance, or manufacturing of aircraft or other\naerospace equipment, aerospace initiatives and efforts, and defense-related products\nrelated to aerospace and aviation;\n(3) \"Aviation industry partner\" means a grantor to the fund that the council determines\ncustomarily employs individuals with an eligible aviation or aerospace credentia l in\na relevant aviation role in the usual course of the grantor's business;\n(4) \"Aviation program\":\n(a) Means an education or training program located in Kentucky that issues\neligible aviation or aerospace credentials or is a specific requirement to\nearning an eligible aviation or aerospace credential, including but not limited\nto a public high school vocational program; and\n(b) Notwithstanding paragraph (a) of this subsection, does not include a flight\ntraining program unless that program is a certified p ilot school regulated by\nthe Federal Aviation Administration in accordance with 14 C.F.R. pt. 141, a\ncertified public postsecondary pilot school regulated by the Federal Aviation\nAdministration in accordance with 14 C.F.R. pt. 61, or is a public high schoo l\nvocational program;\n(5) \"Council\" means the Council on Postsecondary Education;\n(6) \"Dedicated moneys\" means a gift, grant, or donation to the fund that is subject to\nrestrictions imposed by a private grantor under KRS 164.7015;\n(7) \"Eligible aviation credential\" means:\n(a) Any license or certification issued by the Federal Aviation Administration;\n(b) A Bachelor of Science in aviation issued by a postsecondary education\ninstitution overseen or licensed by the council and located in Kentucky;\n(c) Any engineering degree issued by a postsecondary education institution\noverseen or licensed by the council and located in Kentucky; or\n(d) A career and technical education license or certification determined by the\ncouncil, in collaboration wi th the advisory committee, to be in high demand\nand relevant to the aerospace industry;\n(8) \"Fund\" means the Kentucky aerospace, aviation, and defense investment fund\nestablished in KRS 164.7013;\n(9) \"Grantor\" means an individual or an entity that gifts, g rants, or donates moneys to\nthe fund;\n(10) \"Immediate family\" means an individual's parents, siblings, spouse, and children;\n(11) \"Kentucky resident\" means a Kentucky resident as defined by the council pursuant\nto KRS 164.020(8); and\n(12) \"Public aviation program\" is an aviation program that is a public high school\nvocational program or institution that is a member of Kentucky's public\npostsecondary education system.","path":["KRS Chapter 164"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=57984","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:17Z","sha256":"de665f67fa731fd97bbe20848c621ffb9f912eecfdd76e71a9b46fbbf44702cc","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-164.6951","next":"us-ky/krs-164.7013"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
