{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-164.7535","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 164.7535","heading":"College access program grants.","body":"Notwithstanding KRS 164.753(4)(d), the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance\nAuthority may award college access program grants pursuant to KRS 164.753(4), to the\nextent funds are available for the purpose, to financially needy part -time and full -time\nundergraduate students, including students enrolled in a program of study designated as\nan equivalent undergraduate program of study by the Council on Postsecondary\nEducation in an administrative regulation. Grants shall be awarded only to students\nenrolled or a ccepted for enrollment at participating institutions located within the\nCommonwealth. Grants under this section shall be awarded only for attendance in a\nprogram of study of at least two (2) academic years' duration. Grants under this section\nshall be awarded only to students enrolled or accepted for enrollment for attendance in a\nprogram of study that leads to a degree, except that grants shall be awarded to students\nenrolled or accepted for enrollment at publicly operated vocational -technical institutions\nfor attendance in a program of study that leads to a certificate, diploma, or degree or in a\ncomprehensive transition and postsecondary program. For purposes of this section, a\nstudent enrolled in a comprehensive transition and postsecondary program shall  be\nconsidered a part -time student. Awards to recipients attending participating institutions\naccredited by a regional accrediting association shall not exceed the prevailing amount\ncharged for tuition at publicly -supported community and technical colleges  in Kentucky,\nand awards to recipients attending other participating institutions shall not exceed the\nprevailing amount charged for tuition at publicly operated vocational -technical\ninstitutions in Kentucky. The provisions of this section shall not limit the authority's\ncapability to use funds appropriated for this purpose to match federal funds, make grant\nawards, adopt administrative regulations that conform to the requirements of federal laws\nand regulations for full participation in federally -funded st udent financial assistance\nprograms.","path":["KRS Chapter 164"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=42079","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:17Z","sha256":"4411bae43adb70cd2c696a03cb07e360c1d55ecff71edda9634e6b667a792d0e","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-164.7534","next":"us-ky/krs-164.754"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
