{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-164.7885","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 164.7885","heading":"Annual submission by high schools of list of eligible students -- Data in","body":"list -- Verification of eligibility -- Reduction of award -- Students ineligible for\nawards -- Administrative regulations.\n(1) Not later than August 1, 1999, and each June 30 thereafter, each Kentucky high\nschool shall submit to the authority, a compiled list of all high school students\nduring the academic year. A high school shall report the grade point average of an\neligible high school student pursuant to KRS 164.787 4 by January 15 following the\nend of the fall academic term in which the student completed the high school\ngraduation requirements. The list shall identify the high school and shall contain\neach high school student's name, Social Security number, address, grade point\naverage for the academic year, expected or actual graduation date, highest ACT\nscore, family eligibility status for free or reduced -price lunch, and each AP,\nCambridge Advanced International, or IB examination score. The Gatton Academy\nof Mathe matics and Science in Kentucky, the Craft Academy for Excellence in\nScience and Mathematics, and the high school of a model and practice school under\nKRS 164.380 shall report the data on its students to the authority. The list need not\ncontain the ACT, AP,  Cambridge Advanced International, or IB if the authority\nreceives the scores directly from the testing services. The authority shall notify each\neligible high school student of his or her Kentucky educational excellence\nscholarship award earned each acade mic year. The authority shall determine the\nfinal Kentucky educational excellence scholarship and supplemental award based\nupon the actual final grade point average, highest ACT score, and qualifying AP,\nCambridge Advanced International, or IB scores and s hall notify each eligible\ntwelfth-grade high school student of the final determination. The authority shall\nmake available a list of eligible high school and postsecondary students to\nparticipating institutions.\n(2) The authority shall provide data access only to the Kentucky Longitudinal Data\nSystem and to those participating institutions that have either received an admission\napplication from an eligible high school or postsecondary student or have been\nlisted by the eligible high school or postsecondary student on the Free Application\nFor Federal Student Aid.\n(3) For each eligible postsecondary student enrolling in a participating institution after\nJuly 1, 1999, the participating institution shall verify to the authority:\n(a) The student's initial eligibi lity for a Kentucky educational excellence\nscholarship, Kentucky educational excellence scholarship and supplemental\naward, or supplemental award only pursuant to KRS 164.7879(3)(d) through\nthe comprehensive list compiled by the authority or an alternative  source\nsatisfactory to the authority;\n(b) The student's highest ACT score attained by the date of graduation from high\nschool, provided that the participating institution need not report the ACT\nscore if the authority receives the ACT score directly from the testing services;\n(c) The eligible postsecondary student's full-time or part-time enrollment status at\nthe beginning of each academic term; and\n(d) The eligible postsecondary student's cumulative grade point average after the\ncompletion of each award period.\n(4) Each participating institution shall submit to the authority a report, in a form\nsatisfactory to the authority, of all eligible postsecondary students enrolled for that\nacademic term. Kentucky educational excellence scholarships and supplemental\nawards shall be disbursed by the authority to each eligible postsecondary student\nattending a participating institution during the academic term within thirty (30) days\nafter receiving a satisfactory report.\n(5) The Kentucky educational excellence scholar ship and the supplemental award shall\nnot be reduced, except as provided in KRS 164.7881(4).\n(6) Kentucky educational excellence scholarships and supplemental awards shall not be\nawarded or disbursed to any eligible postsecondary students who are:\n(a) In default on any loan under Title IV of the federal act; or\n(b) Liable for any amounts that exceed annual or aggregate limits on any loan\nunder Title IV of the federal act; or\n(c) Liable for overpayment of any grant or loan under Title IV of the federal act;\nor\n(d) In default on any obligation to the authority under any programs administered\nby the authority until financial obligations to the authority are satisfied, except\nthat ineligibility may be waived by the authority for cause.\n(7) Notwithstanding the provisions of KRS 164.753, the authority may promulgate\nadministrative regulations for the administration of Kentucky educational\nexcellence scholarships and supplemental awards under the provisions of KRS\n164.7871 to 164.7885 and KRS 164.7889.","path":["KRS Chapter 164"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=50247","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:17Z","sha256":"3dcc1e77e8d9db7fc5ee535df5fbe4e9183c4cfb47a909fe3a5829f5bb8a86b7","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-164.7884","next":"us-ky/krs-164.7889"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
