{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-164.9813","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 164.9813","heading":"Functions of center.","body":"The center shall provide:\n(1) A staff that has expertise in autism and autistic -like behavior and in sensory\nimpairments;\n(2) Individual and direct family assistance in the home, community, and school. A\ncenter's assistance should not supplant other responsibilities of state and local\nagencies, and each school district is responsible for providing an appropriate\neducation program for clients of a center who are school age;\n(3) Technical assistance and consultation services, including specific intervention and\nassistance for a client of the center, the client's family, and the school district, and\nany other services that are appropriate;\n(4) Professional training programs that include developing, providing, and evaluating\npreservice and in -service training in state -of-the-art practices fo r personnel who\nwork with the populations served by the centers and their families; and\n(5) Public education programs to increase awareness of the public about autism,\nautistic-related disabilities of communication and behavior, dual sensory\nimpairments, and sensory impairments with other handicapping conditions.","path":["KRS Chapter 164"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=4521","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:18Z","sha256":"148027e2f29c4d941878a93f22bcf379f084a80113cc63bf22f7f071559b4140","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-164.9811","next":"us-ky/krs-164.9815"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
