{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-165.170","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 165.170","heading":"Tax levy for municipal college -- Amount -- Disposition.","body":"The legislative body of any city with a population equal to or greater than twenty\nthousand (20,000) based upon the most recent federal decennial census that has a\nmunicipal college may, after an election as required by Section 184 of the Constitution,\nannually levy and collect, for the support of the municipal college, a tax of not less than\nfive cents ($0.05) nor more than fourteen cents ($0.14) on each one hundred dollars'\n($100) worth of property subject to taxation for city purposes. The levy of such t axes\nshall be made at the same time and in the same manner as other levies for city purposes.\nThe amount levied shall be placed to the credit of the municipal college fund upon the\ncompletion of the assessment of property for taxation, and paid as collected, subject to the\ndiscount allowed on other city taxes, by the treasurer of the city to the treasurer or other\nfinancial officer of the college, for the purpose of establishing, acquiring and operating\nthe college.
