{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-165a.470","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 165A.470","heading":"License to operate CDL driver training school -- Persons who may not be","body":"connected with school -- Requirements for school and instructors.\n(1) A person shall not operate, conduct, maintain, or establish a CDL driver training\nschool unless the person  holds a valid current license issued by the commission.\nThe following persons shall not be allowed to be connected in any capacity\nwhatsoever with a CDL driver training school:\n(a) Any person whose employment duties in any way relate to the issuance of a\nmotor vehicle operator's license under KRS Chapter 186 or 281A;\n(b) Any employee of the commission, Justice and Public Safety Cabinet, or\nDepartment of Kentucky State Police; and\n(c) Any member of the immediate family of persons identified in paragraphs (a )\nand (b) of this subsection.\n(2) A person shall not operate, conduct, maintain, or establish a CDL driver training\nschool unless the school has:\n(a) At least one (1) licensed CDL driver training instructor in its employ; and\n(b) At least one (1) commercial motor vehicle owned or leased in the name of the\nCDL driver training school that is properly registered in the Commonwealth\nand that has undergone a safety inspection within the past twelve (12) months.\n(3) A person shall not continue to operate a CDL dr iver training school if the\ncommission has suspended, revoked, canceled, or refused to renew the school's\nlicense.\n(4) A person shall not act as an instructor for a CDL driver training school unless the\nperson holds a valid current license as an instructor  issued by the commission and\nunless the person is employed by a licensed CDL driver training school.","path":["KRS Chapter 165A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=40326","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:20Z","sha256":"3e198fd19c9184f38765243334304519a1f57005c66cb06c6dee4d4368380776","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-165a.465","next":"us-ky/krs-165a.475"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
