{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-17.115","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 17.115","heading":"Criminal identification activities -- State institutions and peace officers to","body":"cooperate with cabinet.\n(1) The Justice and Public Safety Cabinet shall:\n(a) Receive and file fingerprints, photographs, and other records pertaining to the\ninvestigation of crime and the apprehension of criminals; and\n(b) Cooperate with the state, county, and city law enforcing agencies of other\nstates and of the United States in order to develop and carry on an interstate\nand national system of criminal identification.\n(2) Persons in charge of any penal or correctional institution in the state, and all state\nlaw enforcement and peace officers operating identification facilities shall cooperate\nin providing the cabinet with fingerprints and descriptions of all persons lawfull y\ncommitted to their custody or detained by them in cases where fingerprints and\ndescriptions are taken, together with a report of the disposition of all cases of such\npersons.","path":["KRS Chapter 17"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=1199","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:37Z","sha256":"529d816eec51a7a9e16c2b02ed6a3405c47067b5b17698d186c3dad76463cb07","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-17.110","next":"us-ky/krs-17.120"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
