{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-17.147","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 17.147","heading":"Duties of Department of Kentucky State Police.","body":"The Department of Kentucky State Police shall:\n(1) Collect data necessary for the operation of the centralized criminal history record\ninformation system from all persons and agencies mentioned in KRS 17.150;\n(2) Prepare and distribute to all such persons and agencies forms to be used in reporting\ndata to the centralized criminal history record information system. The forms shall\nprovide for items of information needed by federal bureaus or departments engaged\nin the administration of criminal justice programs;\n(3) Prescribe the forms and content of records to be kept by such persons and agencies\nto insure reporting of data to the centralized criminal history record information\nsystem;\n(4) Instruct such persons and agencies in the installation, maintenance, and use of such\nrecords and in the manner of reporting to the centralized criminal history record\ninformation system;\n(5) Tabulate, analyze, and interpret the data collected;\n(6) Supply data, at their request, to participating federal bureaus, departments,  or\ncriminal justice agencies engaged in the administration of criminal justice\nprograms; and\n(7) Annually present to the Governor, on or before July 1, concerning the criminal\nstatistics of the preceding calendar year, and present at such other times as t he\ncommissioner may deem wise, or the Governor may request, reports on special\naspects of criminal statistics.
