{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-17.148","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 17.148","heading":"Duties of Department of Kentucky State Police regarding traffic safety --","body":"Control of funds.\n(1) The Justice and Public Safety Cabinet, Department of Kentucky State Police, shall:\n(a) Coordinate all efforts of the state's various departments and agencie s to\npromote traffic safety and make recommendations regarding the prevention of\nunnecessary duplications of these efforts;\n(b) Cooperate with all organizations, public or private, in the encouragement and\npromotion of traffic safety education in all forms; and\n(c) Receive, control, and expend, in accordance with the general provisions of the\nKentucky Revised Statutes governing financial administration of all state\nagencies, grants and funds from either public or private sources.\n(2) There are hereby transf erred to and vested in the Department of Kentucky State\nPolice all functions, powers, duties, funds, personnel, equipment, and supplies\nrelating to the administration of the National Highway Safety Act of 1966 in\nKentucky, which responsibility and authorit y have been conferred upon the\nTransportation Cabinet.","path":["KRS Chapter 17"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=1208","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:37Z","sha256":"6cce581ff43af5b9a759a86ac5d6f19ea81c830e1ce475f3880aa10cac664b21","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-17.147","next":"us-ky/krs-17.150"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
