{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-17.550","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 17.550","heading":"Definitions for KRS 17.550 to 17.991.","body":"As used in KRS 17.550 to 17.991, the following definitions shall apply:\n(1) \"The board\" means the Sex Offender Risk Assessment Advisory Board created\nunder KRS 17.554;\n(2) \"Sex offender\" means a person who has been convicted of a sex crime as defined in\nKRS 17.500;\n(3) \"Approved provider\" means a mental health professional licensed or certified in\nKentucky whose scope of practice includes providing mental health treatment\nservices and who is approved by the Sex Offender Risk Assessment Advisory\nBoard, under  administrative regulations promulgated by the board, to provide\ncomprehensive sex offender presentence evaluations or treatment to adults and\nyouthful offenders, as defined in KRS 600.020; and\n(4) \"Victim\" means victim as defined by KRS 421.500.","path":["KRS Chapter 17"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=1260","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:38Z","sha256":"3e380d854d43c103e929c87819fa3567cc41e761ea89fd8838ed5facac1c8293","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-17.549","next":"us-ky/krs-17.552"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
