{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-171.250","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 171.250","heading":"Certificates of librarianship -- To whom granted.","body":"(1) The board shall grant certificates of librarianship to applicants who are graduates of\nlibrary schools approved by the board and shall grant certificates to other applicants\nwhen it has satisfied itself that the applicant is qualified for library work. Applicants\nshall provide such information as required by the board to determine their\nqualifications.\n(2) The board may issue renewals, determine the positions for which certificates of\nlibrarianship shall be required, and adopt rules and regulations for its own\ngovernment and for carrying out the purposes of KRS 171.230 to 171.306.\n(3) The board may issue certificates to qualified persons who are serving in libraries not\nsupported from public funds.\n(4) Librarians who were in service on May 31, 1938, and serv ed one (1) year prior to\nsuch date shall be entitled to receive a life certificate in accordance with their\nqualifications, without examination, upon the payment of prescribed fee.","path":["KRS Chapter 171"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=4778","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:22Z","sha256":"e0a495c6ce3dd1e47019367cca45451dec48aeb8c86113c17ab86ac5be2e8468","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-171.240","next":"us-ky/krs-171.260"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
