{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-171.303","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 171.303","heading":"Library science scholarships -- Library Science Scholarship Fund","body":"Advisory Committee.\n(1) There is hereby established a Library Science Scholarship Fund.\n(2) The state librarian may grant scholarships for study in library science at an\ninstitution within the Commonwealth which is accredited by the American Library\nAssociation, the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education or the\nappropriate regional postsecondary education accrediting organization. Scholarships\nmay also be granted for study in an accredited library education program offered via\ndistant learning technologies. Students applying for library education programs at\ninstitutions outside the Commonwealth that are likewise accredited may apply for\nassistance under this program i f they agree to work in a library or archival services\nprogram within the Commonwealth upon their graduation in accordance with KRS\n171.306.\n(3) The state librarian shall establish a Library Science Scholarship Fund Advisory\nCommittee that will receive and  consider all applications for scholarships for study\nin library science and shall advise the state librarian on the awarding of scholarships\naccording to criteria they establish for this purpose.\n(4) The department is authorized to receive money from any state, federal, private or\nother legal funding source approved by the appropriate state agency for scholarship\npurposes, and the amounts of individual scholarships shall be determined by the\nstate librarian on the advice of the Library Science Scholarship Fund Advisory\nCommittee, which shall set criteria for the assistance.
