{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-171.306","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 171.306","heading":"Obligations of library science scholarship recipient.","body":"(1) To be eligible for a scholarship, an applicant shall contract in writing with the state\nlibrarian that he or she will graduate in an agreed to period of time and within six\n(6) months from the date of completing the program of study, accept employment\nwith a library or archival services program approved by the state librarian for a\nperiod of at least two (2) years. The recipient shall agree to the terms of\nemployment established by the employing library or archival services program.\n(2) If the recipient of a scholarship fails to fulfill the obligations agreed to under the\ncontract for a scholarship the entire amount of scholarship benefits received shall\nbecome immediately due and payable to the Library Science Scholarship Fund.\nRepayment of benefits receive d under this program shall be due in a lump sum or\nthrough a payment schedule determined by the state librarian on the advice of the\nLibrary Science Scholarship Fund Advisory Committee, and in accordance with\ncurrent interest rates applicable to similar de bts collected by other financial\nassistance entities.\n(3) Upon recommendation of the state librarian, the Attorney General shall institute\nproceedings for the purpose of recovering any amount due the Commonwealth\nunder the provisions of this section.","path":["KRS Chapter 171"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=4785","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:22Z","sha256":"079a73b43d5c5fdbb766da1caff611ded7c872a73a5791db1b3b50a35c4248da","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-171.303","next":"us-ky/krs-171.310"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
