{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-171.530","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 171.530","heading":"Retention and recovery of records -- Preservation and availability of","body":"certain records for Governor-elect.\n(1) Except as provided in subsection (2) of this section, the commission shall establish\nstandards for the selective retention of record s of continuing value, and the\ndepartment shall assist state and local agencies in applying such standards to\nrecords in their custody. The department shall notify the head of any such agency of\nany actual, impending, or threatening unlawful removal, defac ing, alteration, or\ndestruction of records in the custody of such agency that has come to its attention,\nand initiate action through the agency head or Attorney General for the recovery of\nsuch records as shall have been unlawfully removed and for such oth er redress as\nmay be provided by law.\n(2) (a) For a period of twelve (12) months prior to the date of a gubernatorial\ninauguration, all documents that are public records as defined in KRS 61.870\nshall be preserved for the Governor -elect and his or her gube rnatorial\ntransition team if the subject matter includes:\n1. Contracts that have been granted, altered, or amended;\n2. Appointments to boards and commissions;\n3. Permits and licenses granted and revoked;\n4. Pardons;\n5. Pay raises, promotions, and grade lev el changes of executive branch\nemployees;\n6. Litigation; or\n7.
