{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-171.680","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 171.680","heading":"Records management by agencies.","body":"(1) The head of each state and local agency shall establish and maintain an active,\ncontinuing program for the economical and efficient management of the records of\nthe agency.\n(2) Such program shall provide for:\n(a) Effective controls over the creation, mai ntenance, and use of records in the\nconduct of current business;\n(b) Cooperation with the department in applying standards, procedures, and\ntechniques designed to improve the management of records;\n(c) Promotion of the maintenance and security of records  deemed appropriate for\npreservation, and facilitation of the segregation and disposal of records of\ntemporary value;\n(d) Compliance with the provisions of KRS 171.410 to 171.740 and the rules and\nregulations of the department; and\n(e) Compliance with the provisions of KRS 61.931 to 61.934.","path":["KRS Chapter 171"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=43583","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:22Z","sha256":"c4b5436857fcb0668f649d46de0c69e45d3ac8dcdaa961d89303f4f3eb4dd6fd","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-171.670","next":"us-ky/krs-171.690"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
