{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-171.784","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 171.784","heading":"Nomination of locations and objects for military heritage designation --","body":"Rescission.\n(1) Any person or organization may nominate a geographic location for designation as a\nmilitary heritage site or to rescind a designation as a military heritage site.\n(2) Any person or organization may nominate an object for designation as a military\nheritage object or to rescind a designation as a military heritage object.\n(3) Private property shall not be designated as a military heritage site or as a military\nheritage object unless:\n(a) The nomination is made by the owner of the property if held by a single owner\nor by all owners of the property if the property is held jointly; or\n(b) The nomination is approved, in writing, by the owner of the property if held\nby a s ingle owner or by all owners of the property if the property is held\njointly.\n(4) The commission shall promulgate administrative regulations with regard to the\nprocess of designation of a military heritage site and a military heritage object and\nthe characteristics of a qualifying site and qualifying object.\n(5) The commission shall meet not less than two (2) times per year to act upon\nnominations of geographic locations proposed as military heritage sites and\nnominations of objects as military heritage obj ects. The commission at any meeting\nmay also act on requests to rescind any designation of a military heritage site or\nmilitary heritage object.\n(6) To designate a site as a military heritage site or to designate an object as a military\nheritage object requires a majority vote of the members of the commission.\n(7) To rescind the designation of a site as a military heritage site or to rescind the\ndesignation of an object as a military heritage object requires a unanimous vote of\nthe members of the commission.","path":["KRS Chapter 171"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=4860","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:23Z","sha256":"c83f50c255bb6c5acee7e816b147ed68b55f1520343fce94446f9434e678f106","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-171.782","next":"us-ky/krs-171.786"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
