{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-173.630","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 173.630","heading":"Dissolution -- Procedure.","body":"A library district established pursuant to KRS 173.470 which has been in existence for at\nleast three (3) years may be dissolved in the following manner:\n(1) Upon filing of a duly-certified petition of ten percent (10%) or more of the qualified\nvoters in t he district or one hundred (100) or more qualified voters in the district,\nwhichever is more, the fiscal court of each county in the district shall adopt a\nresolution submitting to the qualified voters of the district the question as to\nwhether the distric t shall be dissolved. A certified copy of the order of each fiscal\ncourt shall be filed with the county clerk not later than the second Tuesday in\nAugust prior to the next regular election and thereupon the clerk shall cause the\nquestion to be placed before the voters;\n(2) The question shall be in substantially the following form: \"Are you in favor of\ndissolving the (insert name of district) Public Library District?\"; and\n(3) If a majority of those voting on the question within the district favor the dissol ution\nsuch district shall thereupon be dissolved.","path":["KRS Chapter 173"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=4966","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:24Z","sha256":"b6a3e181814583b794dc52d38c2aafb77ec7f8e404535fb65058bf16eaa98272","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-173.620","next":"us-ky/krs-173.640"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
