{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-173.795","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 173.795","heading":"Annexation of counties to district.","body":"Counties outside of any existing district, and contiguous thereto, may be annexed to the\ndistrict in the following manner:\n(1) Upon filing with the fiscal court of a duly certified petition of fifty -one percent\n(51%) of the duly qualified voters voting at the last general election, the fiscal court\nof each county in the district and each county proposed to be annexed shall adopt a\nresolution annexing the territory to the district. A certified copy of the order of the\nfiscal court shall be filed with the county clerk within the next thirty (30) days.\n(2) The petition shall be in substantially the following form: \"The following duly\nqualified voters of (insert name of county or counties) petition their respective fiscal\ncourts to annex the following described territory (here describe the territory) to the\n(name district) public library district with the authority to levy an ad valorem tax of\n(state exact amount) on each one hundred dollars ($100) worth of property subject\nto local taxation in the above stated territory.\"","path":["KRS Chapter 173"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=4986","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:24Z","sha256":"3016335dd179b40d1d84efa6b84f1f54cc8f9d17c7754359d2e5cb47814526fa","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-173.790","next":"us-ky/krs-173.800"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
