{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-175.650","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 175.650","heading":"Definitions for KRS 175.640 to 175.690.","body":"As used in KRS 175.640 to 175.690, and as applied to the financing of resource recovery\nroads by the Turnpike Authority of Kentucky, the following words and phrases shall have\nthe following respective meanings, unless another or different meaning or intent  shall be\nclearly indicated by the context.\n(1) \"Authority\" shall mean the Turnpike Authority of Kentucky duly organized and\nexisting pursuant to the provisions of KRS 175.410 to 175.990, inclusive.\n(2) \"Bonds\" or \"resource recovery road revenue bonds\" sha ll mean resource recovery\nroad revenue bonds of the authority issued under the provisions of KRS 175.640 to\n175.690.\n(3) \"Cabinet\" shall mean the Transportation Cabinet of Kentucky or, if said cabinet\nshall be abolished, the cabinet, board, body, departmen t, or commission succeeding\nto the principal functions thereof or to whom the powers vested in the cabinet shall\nbe given or transferred by law.\n(4) \"Resource recovery road project\" or \"project\" shall mean any express highway or\nsuperhighway, or such part or parts thereof, as may be constructed and financed\nunder the provisions of KRS 175.640 to 175.690 which shall be designed and\nconstructed to serve as a modern, heavy -duty motorway facility capable of carrying\nin normal operations vehicles designed for th e transportation of coal severed and\nproduced in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, which road shall also be designed to\nserve the traveling public, including all bridges, tunnels, overpasses, underpasses,\ninterchanges, entrance plazas, approaches, connecting highways, tollhouses (if any),\nservice stations, garages, restaurants, and administration, storage, or other buildings\nand facilities which the authority may deem necessary for the operation of such\nresource recovery road project, together with all property , rights, easements, and\ninterests which may be acquired by the authority or by the cabinet for the\nconstruction or the operation of such project.\n(5) All words and phrases which are defined and used in KRS 175.410 to 175.990,\ninclusive, shall have the sam e meaning or meanings when used in KRS 175.640 to\n175.690, except that the words and phrases \"turnpike project\" or \"project\" as used in\nsaid identified sections shall mean and refer to resource recovery road projects\nconstructed and financed pursuant to KRS 175.640 to 175.690.","path":["KRS Chapter 175"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=5098","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:26Z","sha256":"53b5a668eacf715533fec936deeee5626c9c469c817f00645a6b2301ed5b0382","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-175.640","next":"us-ky/krs-175.660"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
