{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-175.750","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 175.750","heading":"Legislative findings.","body":"The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky determines as a legislative\nfinding of fact that the economy of the Commonwealth and the consequent economic\ndevelopment potential of the citizens of the Commonwealth are vitally dependent upon\nthe existence and availability of a statewide system of safe, adequate and well-maintained\nhighways, roads and thoroughfares; that there is a serious need for construction,\nreconstruction, and in some cases relocation of many such highways, roads and\nthoroughfares to preserve and enhance the economic well -being and development of the\nCommonwealth and the health and safety of the public; and that in many cases, highways,\nroads and thoroughfares which are vital economic links between various sections of the\nCommonwealth have become, by reason of age and continued usage obsolete and are no\nlonger capable of affording the services required in a modern industrial society.  The\nGeneral Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky further determines as a legislative\nfinding of fact that the construction, reconstruction, and relocation of a system of such\neconomic development roads through the Turnpike Authority of Kentucky will preserve\nand enhance the economic viability of the Commonwealth, will enable the\nCommonwealth to prosp er and make available its economic potentials to the fullest\npossible degree, will protect and enhance the safety, health, convenience and welfare of\nthe traveling public and will therefore constitute the performance of essential\ngovernmental and public purposes.","path":["KRS Chapter 175"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=5103","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:26Z","sha256":"bae17cbad86afe4f4d8a7d572c1999bcf7a13b6c17a1b3e4903edf4cc332afa9","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-175.690","next":"us-ky/krs-175.760"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
