{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-176.140","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 176.140","heading":"Determination of eligibility to bid.","body":"(1) The department shall determine who shall be eligible to bid upon any contract with\nthe department for the construction or maintenance of any public road or section\nthereof. The department may adopt rules and regulations and make investigations\nand examinat ions to determine the financial status, experience, responsibility,\nbusiness ability, previous record, sufficiency of plant and equipment, and any other\npertinent facts necessary to determine the eligibility of the proposed bidder.\n(2) The department shall  establish rules and regulations governing the application for\nthe certificate of eligibility, the means and methods of obtaining information\nrelative to the applicant, and the granting of, or refusal to grant, a certificate of\neligibility, and may require  a financial statement of the applicant, verified by the\napplicant or, in the case of a corporation, by an authorized official thereof, as often\nas the department deems it necessary, and at least once in every twelve (12) months.","path":["KRS Chapter 176"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=5184","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:27Z","sha256":"b3ab28c94683cb1446aff3f07e0397449854e3287840ea03bcf86e3bd697199a","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-176.130","next":"us-ky/krs-176.150"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
