{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-176.250","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 176.250","heading":"Duties of department in regard to county roads.","body":"The department shall:\n(1) Recommend rules and regulations determining the method of constructing roads\nand fixing the duties of county road engineers and their employees in respect to all\npublic roads;\n(2) Instruct and advise with the county road engineers and their employees as to  the\nestablishment of grades and suitable systems of drainage and as to the construction,\nimprovement and maintenance of public roads;\n(3) Cause plans, specifications and estimates to be prepared for the repair and\nimprovement of public roads and the const ruction and repair of bridges, and, when\nrequested, advise upon the various methods of road construction adapted to\ndifferent sections of the state, and as to the best methods of construction and\nmaintenance of public roads throughout the state, and collec t such information\nrelating thereto as it deems expedient; and\n(4) Cause meetings to be held in each county for the purpose of furnishing general\ninformation and instruction upon the maintenance and improvement of public roads\nand the application of the road laws and the rules of the department.
