{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-176.506","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 176.506","heading":"Membership of commission -- Officers -- Meetings.","body":"(1) The Motorcycle Advisory Commission for Highway Safety shall be composed of\nseven (7) members, appointed as follows:\n(a) One (1) representative of the Office of Project Delivery and Preservation\nwithin the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's Department of Hig hways,\nappointed by the Governor;\n(b) One (1) representative of the Office of Project Development within the\nKentucky Transportation Cabinet's Department of Highways, appointed by the\nGovernor;\n(c) One (1) representative of the Department of Kentucky State  Police, appointed\nby the Governor;\n(d) Two (2) representatives of the Kentucky Motorcycle Association, to be\nappointed by the Governor from a list of five (5) nominees selected by the\nassociation;\n(e) One (1) member of the Kentucky Motorcycle Safety Educa tion Advisory\nCommission, appointed by the Governor; and\n(f) One (1) representative of the Kentucky Association of Highway Contractors,\nto be appointed by the Governor from a list of five (5) nominees selected by\nthe association.\n(2) Members of the Motorcycle Advisory Commission for Highway Safety shall serve a\nterm of four (4) years. Sitting members shall be eligible to succeed themselves.\n(3) Commission members shall receive no compensation for their services and shall not\nbe compensated for expenses incu rred from travel or in connection with the\nperformance of their duties as commission members.\n(4) The commission shall elect its chair and vice chair from its membership.\n(5) The commission shall meet quarterly or upon the call of the chair or the request of\nthe secretary of the Transportation Cabinet.\n(6) A majority of the members of the commission constitutes a quorum and the\ncommission may make recommendations only at meetings where a quorum is\npresent.\n(7) The commission shall keep a record of its meetings and recommendations.\n(8) For administrative purposes, the commission shall be attached to the Office of\nHighway Safety within the Department of Highways.","path":["KRS Chapter 176"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=5223","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:27Z","sha256":"2351ec33a0e5c1f60ca23f221a190c16a3b01d4da68867dea15cd9323bceb52e","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-176.505","next":"us-ky/krs-176.5061"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
