{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-176.5065","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 176.5065","heading":"Motorcycle safety education program fund.","body":"(1) The motorcycle safety education program fund is established as a restricted fund in\nthe State Treasury. Moneys in the fund are hereby appropriated for the purposes set\nforth in KRS 176.5061 to 176.5069. Moneys in the fund shall be utilized to provide\nmotorcycle training courses as established in KRS 176.5062 and for implementation\nof the program, including reimbursement of entities that offer approved motorcycle\nrider education courses. The Transportation Cabinet may deduct up to ten percent\n(10%) of availa ble program funds per fiscal year for administrative costs from the\nmotorcycle safety education program fund.\n(2) If at the end of each fiscal year money remains in the fund, it shall be retained in the\nfund. The interest and income earned on money in the fund, after deducting any\napplicable charges, shall be credited to the motorcycle safety education program\nfund.\n(3) The following revenue shall be credited to the fund:\n(a) Four dollars ($4) of the annual registration fee for each registered motorcycle\nas provided in KRS 186.535;\n(b) Four dollars ($4) of the application fee for a motorcycle instruction permit as\nprovided in KRS 186.531;\n(c) Ten dollars ($10) of the fee for each original or renewal motorcycle driver's\nlicense or endorsement as provided in KRS 186.531; and\n(d) Any federal or state motorcycle safety funds granted to the program.","path":["KRS Chapter 176"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=51599","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:27Z","sha256":"14a6312182c78a11d00d24970544af6706c3ed71d7451f67a69454705ab02424","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-176.5064","next":"us-ky/krs-176.5066"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
