{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-177.860","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 177.860","heading":"Administrative regulations -- Standards for billboard advertising.","body":"The  Transportation Cabinet  shall promulgate  administrative regulations in\naccordance with KRS Chapter 13A, no later than August 1, 2021, to establish:\n(1) Permit fees for advertising devices not to exceed:\n(a) Two  hundred fifty dollars ($250) for the initial permit application review,\nsite and compliance inspection, and permit issuance; and\n(b) One  hundred dollars ($100) for an annual permit renewal; and\n(2) Reasonable  standards for the advertising devices hereinafter enumerated,\ndesigned to protect the safety of and to guide the users of the highways and\notherwise to achieve the objectives set forth in KRS  177.850, and the erection\nand  maintenance of any of the following advertising devices, if they comply\nwith the regulations, shall not be deemed  a violation of KRS  177.830 to\n177.890:\n(a) Signs, notices, posters, displays, or other devices that do not meet the\ndefinition of advertising device as set forth in KRS 177.830;\n(b) An advertising device which is not visible from any traveled portion of the\nhighway; and\n(c) Advertising devices which otherwise comply  with the applicable zoning\nordinances and regulations of any county or city, and which are to be located in\na commercially or industrially developed area, in which the commissioner of\nhighways determines, in exercise of his sound discretion, that the location of\nthe advertising devices is compatible with the safety and convenience of the\ntraveling public.","path":["KRS Chapter 177"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=50721","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:29Z","sha256":"e6ceb00c7f768c76c0717f76dcd43ca656848e7467bf491c14aaa0d359fc5e7a","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-177.850","next":"us-ky/krs-177.863"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
