{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-178.300","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 178.300","heading":"Road passing over or obstructed by dam.","body":"(1) Where a county road passes over a dam, the owner or occupier of the dam shall\nkeep such dam in good order and at least fourteen (14) feet wide at the top. He shall\nalso keep in good order a bridge of like width over the pierhead, floodgates or any\nwaste cut through or around the dam and shall erect and keep in good order a strong\nrailing on both sides of such bridges or dam.\n(2) Every owner of a dam built after 1914, which dam, or the race or ditch connected\ntherewith, obstructs any county road by the back ing of water or otherwise, shall\nwhenever it is necessary for the safe and convenient crossing of the same, or the\npond created thereby, build and keep in repair over the dam, pond, race or ditch, a\nbridge like that specified in subsection (1) of this section.","path":["KRS Chapter 178"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=5451","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:30Z","sha256":"fe2d82969c62357167aa0f42b8ccb6fcef9423f2a1cf867c46e1f3b526a691b9","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-178.290","next":"us-ky/krs-178.310"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
