{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-178.990","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 178.990","heading":"Penalties.","body":"(1) Any county road engineer who fails to comply with the provisions of KRS 178.050\nshall be fined not less than ten ($10) nor more than one hundred dollars ($100) for\neach offense.\n(2) Any county road engineer who makes a change in the location of a road with out\ncomplying with the provisions of this chapter shall be fined not less than twenty -\nfive dollars ($25).\n(3) Any person who injures a sidewalk constructed under the provisions of KRS\n178.290 and fails to repair or replace the sidewalk shall be fined not l ess than four\n($4) nor more than fifty dollars ($50).\n(4) Any owner or occupier of a dam who fails to comply with the provisions of KRS\n178.300 shall be fined two dollars ($2) for every twenty -four (24) hours of\nnoncompliance. Where a milldam is carried aw ay or destroyed, the owner or\noccupier shall not be subject to the fine until one (1) month after the mill has been\nput in operation.\n(5) If a fiscal court or county judge/executive willfully fails to perform any duty\nrequired of it by the provisions of th is chapter, except KRS 178.170 and 178.210 to\n178.240, every member of such court concurring in the failure shall be fined not\nless than ten ($10) nor more than one hundred dollars ($100) by the Circuit Court of\nthe county.\n(6) All fines imposed by this chapter shall be paid into the county road fund, except that\nin case of a privately owned road or bridge, the fines shall accrue to the owner.\n(7) No fines imposed by this chapter shall bar action for damages for breach of\ncontract.","path":["KRS Chapter 178"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=5471","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:30Z","sha256":"338785e61629a5240f21595c17aca07b4ab2038f04eda72408113f503d3da09e","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-178.425","next":"us-ky/krs-179.010"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
