{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-179.210","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 179.210","heading":"Removal of obstructions by contractor or engineer -- Repair of bridges --","body":"Payment of cost.\nWhen a county road is suddenly obstructed or a county bridge becomes unsafe, if it is\nunder contract for continuous maintenance as provided in KRS 178.140, the county\nengineer shall immediately notify the contractor on whose section of road the obstruction\noccurs, and within twenty -four (24) hours or as soon as practicable thereafter, such\ncontractor shall remove the obstruction. If the contractor makes no effort  to remove the\nobstruction within twenty-four (24) hours, the county engineer shall immediately employ\nnecessary persons, machinery and teams, and without avoidable delay, cause the\nobstruction to be removed from the public road, or the bridge to be made safe. The cost of\nremoval shall be recoverable from the contractor, as provided in KRS 179.150.
