{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-181.010","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 181.010","heading":"Definitions.","body":"(1) As used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise requires:\n(a) \"Bridge\" includes the bridge and the approaches thereto;\n(b) \"Employee\" includes agents, servants and independent contractors;\n(c) \"Owner\" means any person having any title or interest in lands, structures,\nrights-of-way, franchises, easements or other interests in land; and\n(d) \"Streets\" includes lanes and alleys.\n(2) As used in KRS 181.560 to 181.840, unless the context otherwise requires:\n(a) \"Cost of bridge\" as applied to a bridge acqui red by purchase, includes the\npurchase price, cost of improvements, financing charges, interest during any\nperiod of disuse before completion of improvements and for a period of six\n(6) months after purchase or completion, cost of traffic estimates and of\nengineering and legal expenses, specifications and surveys, estimates of cost\nand of revenues, other expenses incident to determining the feasibility or\npracticability of the enterprise, and administrative and other expenses incident\nto financing and acquiring the bridge and placing it in operation;\n(b) \"Cost of bridge\" as applied to a bridge to be constructed, includes the cost of\nconstruction, the cost of acquiring necessary land, property rights, easements\nand franchises, financing charges, interest during construction and for a period\nof six (6) months thereafter, cost of traffic estimates and of engineering and\nlegal expenses, plans, specifications, surveys, estimates of cost and of\nrevenues, other expenses incident to determining the practicability of the\nenterprise, and expenses incident to financing the constructing of the bridge\nand placing it in operation; and\n(c) \"Improvements\" means repairs, replacements and additions to a bridge\nacquired by purchase which are deemed necessary to place the bridge in a safe\nand efficient condition for public use, when such improvements are ordered\nprior to the sale of bonds for acquisition of the bridge.","path":["KRS Chapter 181"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=5575","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:32Z","sha256":"06c6d8a151f65c21d028f0aca92d72b43046b7b17b90fc194982e802546c7d3d","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-180.990","next":"us-ky/krs-181.020"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
