{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-183.885","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 183.885","heading":"Traffic and parking regulation powers.","body":"(1) The airport boards, each having the power and authority to govern and control the\nmethod and purpose of use of property owned or occupied by their respective\nairports, including travel over such property, is each hereby confirmed in its\nauthority to regula te the traffic and parking of motor vehicles or other vehicles as\nwell as the traffic of pedestrians on, over and across the runways, streets, roads,\npaths and grounds of real property owned, used or occupied by such airport. Such\nregulations applicable to traffic and parking may include, but not be limited to, the\nfollowing provisions:\n(a) Provisions governing the registration, speed, operation, parking and times,\nplaces and manner of use of motor vehicles, and other vehicles.\n(b) Provisions prescribing p enalties for the violation of such regulations, which\npenalties may include the imposition of reasonable charges, the removing and\nimpounding (at the expense of the violator) of vehicles which are operated or\nparked in violation of such regulations, and the denial of permission to operate\nvehicles on the property of such airport.\n(c) Provisions establishing reasonable charges and fees for the registration of\nvehicles and for the use of parking spaces or facilities owned or occupied by\nsuch airport.\nProvided, however, that nothing herein contained shall be deemed to limit or restrict\nthe powers of any other governmental authority having jurisdiction over public\nstreets, roads, or ways.\n(2) Motor vehicle moving violations of regulations issued under this sect ion shall be\ndeemed violations of the appropriate equivalent sections of the motor vehicle laws\nof the Commonwealth and may be prosecuted in the courts having territorial\njurisdiction over the physical location of the offense.","path":["KRS Chapter 183"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=5878","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:35Z","sha256":"de52e71f2572368cc3d6711d9a54c667d5fc6892a5b4f05d74c8ac213120de59","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-183.884","next":"us-ky/krs-183.886"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
