{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-183.887","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 183.887","heading":"Pointing laser or other light at aircraft operator.","body":"(1) As used in this section, \"laser\" means any device designed or used to amplify\nelectromagnetic radiation by stimulated emission that emits a beam.\n(2) A person shall not knowingly direct at an aircraft any light emitted from a laser\ndevice or any other sour ce which is capable of interfering with the vision of a\nperson operating the aircraft.\n(3) This section shall not apply to:\n(a) An authorized individual in the conduct of research and development or flight\ntest operations conducted by an aircraft manufactu rer, the Federal Aviation\nAdministration, or any other person authorized by the Federal Aviation\nAdministration to conduct such research and development or flight test\noperations; or\n(b) Members or elements of the United States Department of Defense or Uni ted\nStates Department of Homeland Security acting in an official capacity for the\npurpose of research, development, operations, testing, or training.","path":["KRS Chapter 183"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=44636","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:35Z","sha256":"6ce9579b8347643c89931a581af62d3bb6065bfbdf8c8ee655abd0f1bb8b3da1","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-183.886","next":"us-ky/krs-183.990"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
