{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-184.080","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 184.080","heading":"Powers and duties of board of directors -- Officers -- Employees --","body":"Compensation -- Regulations -- Approval of accounts and acts of directors --\nCompliance with KRS 65A.010 to 65A.090 -- Dissolution of district.\n(1) The board of directors, which is he reby declared to be the governing body of the\nroad district, shall keep a record of its proceedings, shall adopt and have a seal, and\nshall exercise all powers and manage and control all the affairs and property of the\ndistrict.\n(2) The board of directors shall elect one (1) of its members chairman, one (1) secretary\nand one (1) treasurer.\n(3) The board may employ an attorney and an engineer, who shall serve in such\ncapacities during the pleasure of the board and for such reasonable compensation as\nmay be fixed by the board and approved by order of the county judge/executive.\n(4) Each member of the board may receive a salary of not in excess of two hundred\ndollars ($200) per annum for his services, which salary shall be fixed at the first\nmeeting of said board, and approved of by order of the county judge/executive, and\nthereafter may be decreased as the duties of the members decrease.\n(5) The board may adopt such rules and regulations as are necessary for its proper\nfunctioning.\n(6) The chairman, secretary and treasurer of the district shall perform such duties as are\nusually performed by such officers.\n(7) The county judge/executive, by method similar to that for approving settlements of\nfiduciaries, shall approve the accounts and acts of all directors upon  death,\nresignation or at expiration of their term of office, which county judge/executive\napproval shall relieve the surety upon the bond of such director, the cost of which\nshall be a charge against the district.\n(8) The district board shall comply with the provisions of KRS 65A.010 to 65A.090.\n(9) When the affairs of the district have been completed, the directors and officers shall\nby verified petition ask the county judge/executive for a dissolution of the district,\nwhich petition shall include an acco unting of all moneys received and disbursed by\nthe district and shall be referred to the county judge/executive and when approved\nby the county judge/executive shall release said officers, directors and their sureties,\nthe cost of which shall be a charge against the district.","path":["KRS Chapter 184"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=41743","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:36Z","sha256":"1d51d91317e6705ab5c69eeec6c3bc87fb3b49fdf548850b8fe4a8747a35b577","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-184.070","next":"us-ky/krs-184.090"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
