{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-184.220","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 184.220","heading":"Foreclosure of liens -- Redemption.","body":"In the event that a property owner fails or refuses to pay his assessment in cash within\nthirty (30) days or to pay one-tenth (1/10) of his assessment in cash within thirty (30) days\nand execute an agreement to pay the balance in nine (9) equal annual inst allments with\ninterest, as aforesaid, or in the event that a property owner fails or refuses to pay any\nsemiannual installment of interest or annual installment of principal due under such\nagreement when the same becomes due, then the board of directors sh all, after making\nreasonable efforts to collect the same, direct its attorney to file a suit in equity to foreclose\nthe lien of the road district against such delinquent property owner. In all actions to\nenforce liens, a copy of the resolution of the board of directors authorizing the work to be\ndone and assessing the lien against the property owners, attested by the secretary of said\nboard, shall be filed with the petition and shall constitute prima facie evidence of all facts\nnecessary to be established b y the plaintiff in such an action to entitle it to relief. In such\nactions, the court shall provide in its order confirming any report of sale that any\ndefendant or defendants or anyone claiming through him or them may, within two (2)\nyears from the date o f the order confirming a report of sale, redeem the property sold by\npaying to the purchaser the purchase price, with interest thereon from the day of sale at\nthe rate of ten percent (10%) per annum to the date of payment; in the event that there be\nno redemption within the time allowed, the order of confirmation shall be final and a deed\nshall be executed to the purchaser or his assignee.","path":["KRS Chapter 184"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=5902","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:36Z","sha256":"3feb9bb0d979bf80237be2e07cf9d785f1faa3d61dcbe67ed3afbf9542029ded","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-184.210","next":"us-ky/krs-184.230"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
