{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-186.166","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 186.166","heading":"Perpetual production of certain special license plates -- Design of Purple","body":"Heart license plates.\n(1) The Transportation Cabinet shall, unless directed otherwise by the General\nAssembly, perpetually produce the following special license p lates: military license\nplates, military unit license plates, U.S. Congressional license plates, firefighter\nlicense plates, emergency management license plates, Fraternal Order of Police\nlicense plates, Law Enforcement Memorial license plates, street rod license plates,\nnature license plates, amateur radio license plates, Kentucky General Assembly\nlicense plates, Kentucky Court of Justice license plates, Masonic Order license\nplates, collegiate license plates, independent college and university license pla tes,\nchild victims' trust fund license plates, Kentucky Horse Council license plates,\nDucks Unlimited license plates, Gold Star Mothers, Fathers, and Spouses license\nplates, Gold Star Siblings, Sons, and Daughters license plates, Silver Star Medal\nlicense plates, Legion of Merit Medal license plates, Bronze Star Medal license\nplates, Air Medal license plates, Distinguished Flying Cross license plates, Combat\nAction Badge license plates, Combat Infantry Badge license plates, POW/MIA\nAwareness license plates, spay neuter license plates, service academy license plates,\nFriends of Kentucky Agriculture license plates, and I Support Veterans license\nplates.\n(2) The design of the plates identified for perpetual production under this section may\nbe revised upon requ est of a group or organization requesting a design revision\nunder the provisions of KRS 186.164(16).\n(3) (a) The design of a Purple Heart license plate shall not include any representation\nof the word \"Kentucky\" that is a registered trademark or slogan which appears\non a general issue license plate.\n(b) The design of a Purple Heart license plate shall include a representation of the\nPurple Heart medal and the words \"Combat Wounded.\"","path":["KRS Chapter 186"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=57954","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:37Z","sha256":"80a0360e1d7ae6c304d79aabb85dd6c72abf63c700ee80d8f3ba062c82b41f00","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-186.165","next":"us-ky/krs-186.167"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
