{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-186.172","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 186.172","heading":"Special license plates for firefighters.","body":"(1) Upon application to the county clerk of the county of his residence, any current or\nretired member of a fire department, volunteer fire department, or fire protection\ndistrict in the Commonwealth shall be issued a special firefighter license plate that\nshall bear the inscription \"Firefighter,\" a registration number, and an appropriate\nstandardized insignia.\n(2) Each initial or renewal application shall be accompanied by proof of current service\nor retirement as a firefighter as furnished by the fire chief, the mayor or trustee of a\ncity, or the county judge/executive in appropriate rural areas, and the payment of the\nfees set forth in KRS 186.162.\n(3) The special firefighter license plate shall be administered in the same manner as\nother special license plates as prescribed in KRS 186.164.","path":["KRS Chapter 186"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=48891","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:37Z","sha256":"5496425ee66852c075fe4e477902808610bc97e6577400e28e4249251fc58bdd","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-186.171","next":"us-ky/krs-186.1721"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
