{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-186.400","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 186.400","heading":"Duties of Transportation Cabinet -- Administration of laws.","body":"(1) The administration of the provisions of KRS 186.400 to 186.640 shall be vested in\nthe Transportation Cabinet. The Transportation Cabinet may prescribe regulations\nfor the enforcement of KRS 186.400 to 186.640. The Transportation Cabinet also\nshall enforce regulations governing the acts of motor vehicle operators under KRS\n186.400 to 186.640 and require reports which it deems necessary.\n(2) The cabinet shall provide or cause to be provided to appropriate persons or officials\nan adequate supply of forms for the administration of KRS 186.400 to 186.640. The\nstyle of those forms and the method of their use shall be prescribed by the cabinet\nand shall be adequate to protect the safety interests of the state. The Transportation\nCabinet shall prescribe the method of financial control.\n(3) (a) The Transportation Cabinet shall collect all moneys due the state under KRS\n186.531 for operators' licenses and personal identification cards issued, and\nshall deposit those moneys with the state treasurer.\n(b) At least once each year the secretary of the Transportation Cabinet shall cause\na reconciliation to be made between the record of receipts by the\nTransportation Cabinet and the receipt of applications by the Transportation\nCabinet.","path":["KRS Chapter 186"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=49847","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:38Z","sha256":"b4af02d2b8e0ea4b3edb863d7eaa7d1add9fbab9f6350a5038d3e8ca524fc12d","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-186.290","next":"us-ky/krs-186.401"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
