{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-186.4101","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 186.4101","heading":"Renewal of license -- Reconciliation of four -year and eight -year renewal","body":"periods.\n(1) Except as provided in subsection (2) of this section, a license to operate a motor\nvehicle, motorcycle, or moped, or a personal identification card shall be renewed\nevery eight (8) years prior to its expiration. Except as provided in KRS 186.410, a\nperson seeking to renew an operator's license shall apply to the cabinet in\naccordance with KRS 186.412 and 186.4121.\n(2) An applicant for a renewal license, instru ction permit, or identification card may\nchoose to be issued a document that is valid for four (4) years.
