{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-186.454","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 186.454","heading":"Intermediate license holder application process.","body":"(1) Except as provided in KRS 186.415, a person with an intermediate license who is\nunder the age of eighteen (18) years may apply for an operator's license to operate a\nmotor vehicle if the person has:\n(a) Attained the age of seventeen (17) years;\n(b) Held an intermediate license for a minimum of one hundred eighty (180) days\nwithout a conviction for a moving violation under KRS Chapter 189 for which\npoints are assessed by the cabinet, a conviction for a violation of KRS\n189.292 or 189.294, a conviction for a violation of KRS 189A.010(1), or a\nconviction under KRS 186.452(3), (4), or (5); and\n(c) Completed a driver training program under KRS 186.410(4).\n(2) A person with an intermediate license who is eighteen (18) years of age or older\nmay apply for an operato r's license to operate a motor vehicle if the person has\ncompleted a driver training program under KRS 186.410(4).","path":["KRS Chapter 186"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=55915","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:38Z","sha256":"d612d9057788ab568c98f2b2ca9e788d4ba25406ffe4bb7d69e73c11fccea428","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-186.452","next":"us-ky/krs-186.455"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
