{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-186.750","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 186.750","heading":"Definitions for KRS 186.750 and 186.752.","body":"As used in this section and KRS 186.752:\n(1) \"Bi-fuel system\" means the power system of motor vehicles that are powered by\ngasoline and either CNG or LNG;\n(2) \"Cabinet\" means the Transportation Cabinet;\n(3) \"Clean transportation fuel\" means:\n(a) Propane, C NG, LNG, bi -fuel systems, or electricity when they are used as\nmotor vehicle fuel; or\n(b) Other transportation fuels determined by the division to be comparable with\nrespect to emissions;\n(4) \"Compressed natural gas\" or \"CNG\" means pipeline quality natural  gas that is\ncompressed and provided for sale or use as a motor vehicle fuel;\n(5) \"Conversion\" means:\n(a) Repowering a motor vehicle or special mobile equipment by replacing its\noriginal gasoline or diesel powered engine with one capable of operating on\nclean transportation fuel; or\n(b) Retrofitting a motor vehicle or special mobile equipment with parts that\nenable its original gasoline or diesel powered engine to operate on clean\ntransportation fuel;\n(6) \"Division\" means the Division for Air Quality within  the Energy and Environment\nCabinet;\n(7) \"Liquefied natural gas,\" \"liquid natural gas,\" or \"LNG\" means pipeline -quality\nnatural gas treated to remove water, hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide, and other\ncomponents that will freeze and condensed into liquid f orm for sale or use as a\nmotor vehicle fuel;\n(8) \"Liquefied petroleum gas,\" \"propane,\" or \"LPG\" means a hydrocarbon mixture\nproduced as a by -product of natural gas processing and petroleum refining and\ncondensed into liquid form for sale or use as a motor fuel;\n(9) \"Motor vehicle\" means a self -propelled device by which a person or property m ay\nbe transported upon a public highway, except a device moved by human or animal\npower or used exclusively upon stationary rails or tracks, or which derives its power\nfrom overhead wires; and\n(10) \"Special mobile equipment\" means a motor vehicle or mobile  equipment not\ndesigned or used primarily to transport people, including but not limited to\nconstruction or maintenance equipment.","path":["KRS Chapter 186"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=42402","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:39Z","sha256":"c26778764d12db3dc42b0bae7feb97595796f56739e725ad7bfa68fa62c567c2","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-186.700","next":"us-ky/krs-186.752"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
