{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-186.776","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 186.776","heading":"Transportation Cabinet is sole agency for implementation of KRS 186.760","body":"to 186.779 -- Administrative regulations.\n(1) Unless otherwise provided in this chapter, KRS Chapter 189, and KRS Chapter\n281, fully autonomous vehicles and automated dri ving systems are governed\nexclusively by the provisions of KRS 186.760 to 186.779. The Transportation\nCabinet is the sole and exclusive state agency that may implement KRS 186.760 to\n186.779.\n(2) No state agency shall prohibit the operation of fully autono mous vehicles or\nautomated driving systems, or otherwise enact or keep in force rules or ordinances\nthat would impose taxes, fees, or other requirements, including performance\nstandards, that are specific to the operation of fully autonomous vehicles or\nautomated driving systems.\n(3) The Transportation Cabinet may promulgate administrative regulations in\naccordance with KRS Chapter 13A to implement procedural provision of KRS\n186.760 to 186.779, but shall not impose additional requirements on the operation\nof fully autonomous vehicles or automated driving systems that are inconsistent\nwith KRS 186.760 to 186.779.","path":["KRS Chapter 186"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=55493","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:39Z","sha256":"6a889af05141535cb0d9f8ed9aa79036e9102df44af7e6e0ca8ef904c322a8f3","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-186.773","next":"us-ky/krs-186.779"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
