{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-186a.105","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 186A.105","heading":"Information required for issuance of temporary registration -- Dealer to","body":"keep log of each temporary tag obtained and used.\n(1) Motor vehicle dealers, their agents and county clerks, before equipping a vehicle\nwith a temporary tag, shall print or stamp in waterproof ink, legibly, in the spaces\nprovided on the tag:\n(a) The month, day and year the vehicle was delivered to the purchaser;\n(b) The month, day and year of expiration of the tag which shall be no more than\nsixty (60) days following the date of delivery of the vehicle to the purchaser;\n(c) The purchaser's or owner's name;\n(d) The year model, make and vehicle identification number of the vehicle sold;\nand\n(e) Either the dealer's name, city of principal place of business and the teleph one\nnumber, including telephone area code, or the clerk's name, county and\ntelephone number, including area code.\n(2) (a) The dealer's employee who executes the temporary tag shall place his or her\nsignature in the space provided.\n(b) A dealer who issues, or whose agents issue, temporary tags shall:\n1. Keep a log of each t emporary tag obtained and each tag issued, legibly\nshowing all information entered by the dealer or dealer's agent on forms\nsupplied by the cabinet. These records may be kept in an electronic\nformat;\n2. Organize the log in sequential order by the date the tags are issued;\n3. Maintain the log at the dealer's principal place of business and make it\navailable for inspection by any law enforcement officer or authorized\nagent of the Motor Vehicle Commission upon request;\n4. Retain any temporary tags which have b een voided as part of the log;\nand\n5. Retain the log for a period of at least two (2) years following the date of\nissuance of the last dated tags whose issuance is indicated on any\nindividual temporary tag log sheet. These records may be kept in an\nelectronic format.\n(3) The county clerk who executes the temporary tag shall place his or her signature in\nthe space provided. A county clerk who issues temporary tags shall keep a log of\neach temporary tag obtained and each tag issued, showing all information en tered\nby the county clerk on forms supplied by the cabinet, and shall make the log\navailable for inspection by any law enforcement officer upon request. The log shall\nbe retained by the county clerk for a period of at least two (2) years following the\ndate of issuance of the last dated tags whose issuance is indicated on any individual\ntemporary tag log sheet.
