{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-186a.125","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 186A.125","heading":"Application for title or registration -- Department to provide forms --","body":"County clerk to process documents -- Exceptions.\n(1) Except as provided in subsection (5) of this section, application for a first certificate\nof registration, or ti tle, in the name of an owner shall be made on forms prescribed\nby the Department of Vehicle Regulation consistent with this chapter, which shall\nbe available from any county clerk or on the Transportation Cabinet's website.\n(2) Application forms shall be c ompleted, except as to required signatures, by legibly\nprinting in ink, or typing all required information.\n(3) The application, when presented to the county clerk, shall contain all required\ninformation and be fully executed with all required supporting d ocumentation and\nfees.\n(4) The county clerk shall reject any application upon which the information provided\nis not legibly printed or typed, the required information is not supplied, not\naccompanied by required supporting documents, not properly executed with\nsignatures when required, or when the clerk determines that the application is\nimproper or that the applicant is not entitled to registration or title of the vehicle for\nwhich registration or title is sought, or in the absence of the required fees.\n(5) This section shall not apply to applications for title or salvage title using the\nelectronic title application and registration system established under KRS\n186A.017.","path":["KRS Chapter 186A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=54425","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:39Z","sha256":"226991df2395b053dde91748c2f1b4cba68bc88fc34662748d4363045fd2acc4","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-186a.120","next":"us-ky/krs-186a.126"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
