{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-186a.265","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 186A.265","heading":"County clerk and employees to be trained and certified in system use.","body":"(1) Each county clerk, or county clerk -elect, shall, before utilizing or permitting his\nemployees to utilize the automated vehicle registration and titling system, ensure\nthat he and his employees have satisfactorily completed an orientation course\nregarding t he forms, procedures and use of the system as instructed by the\nTransportation Cabinet.\n(2) The county clerk, or county clerk -elect, shall certify to the commissioner of the\nDepartment of Vehicle Regulation, those of his employees or prospective\nemployees, who, together with himself, having satisfactorily completed the required\norientation, will utilize the automated system under his direction.\n(3) His certification shall be made by printing or typing upon a form supplied by the\nDepartment of Vehicle Regula tion, the name of his county, and as to himself and\neach of his employees who will utilize the system, their last name, first name, and\nwhere available middle initial, their birth date, and Social Security account number,\nas to each person shown upon the c ertificate. The county clerk shall sign and date\nthe certificate following a preprinted statement that shall read:  I certify under\npenalty of forgery in the second degree that the persons whose names appear above\nhave satisfactorily completed an orientati on on use of the automated vehicle\nregistration and titling system as provided by this chapter and that the information\nsupplied is true and correct to the best of my knowledge and belief. I will not\nwillfully permit anyone other than those persons shown h ereon, or on another\ncertificate of this same type executed by me, and persons authorized in writing by\nthe Department of Vehicle Regulation, to use telecommunications terminals linked\nto the automated system and under my control.\n(4) Each county clerk shall promptly notify the Department of Vehicle Regulation on a\nform supplied by it, of the name of any employee whose authorization to utilize the\nautomated system has been terminated by him or whose employment by such clerk\nhas ceased.\n(5) Every county cler k and each of his employees who is authorized to utilize the\nautomated system shall promptly report to the Department of Vehicle Regulation\nany attempted, actual, or suspected misuse of the automated system of which they\nbecome aware.","path":["KRS Chapter 186A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=6189","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:40Z","sha256":"1d535bb69919134f9281840797e57fcc0d01aa6e7bbf80efca66055108184c99","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-186a.260","next":"us-ky/krs-186a.270"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
