{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-187.410","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 187.410","heading":"Suspension for nonpayment of judgment -- Exception.","body":"(1) Upon the receipt of a certified copy of a judgment, the cabinet shall forthwith\nsuspend (except as provided in KRS 187.440) the license and registration and the\nnonresident's operating privilege of any person against whom such judgment was\nrendered.\n(2) If the judgment creditor consents in writing, in such form as the cabinet may\nprescribe, that the judgment debtor be allowed license and registration or\nnonresident's operating privilege, the same may be allowed by the cabinet, in its\ndiscretion, for six (6) months from the date of such consent and thereafter until such\nconsent is revoked in writing, notwithstanding default in the payment of such\njudgment, or of any installments thereof prescribed in KRS 187.440.","path":["KRS Chapter 187"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=6258","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:41Z","sha256":"497a110569d1e1f1722a20deca6c6372503b069c9723150d2d7cd5f53e3cdf41","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-187.400","next":"us-ky/krs-187.420"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
