{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-187.990","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 187.990","heading":"Penalties.","body":"(1) Any person whose license or registration or nonresident's operating privilege has\nbeen suspended or revoked under KRS 187.290 to 187.620 and who, during such\nsuspension or revocation drives any motor vehicle upon any highway or knowingly\npermits any motor vehicle owned by such person to be operated by another upon\nany highway, except as permitted under KRS 187.290 to 187.620, shall be fined not\nmore than five hundred dollars ($500) or imprisoned not exceeding six (6) months,\nor both.\n(2) Any person willfull y failing to return license or registration as required in KRS\n187.590 shall be fined not more than five hundred dollars ($500) or imprisoned not\nto exceed thirty (30) days, or both.\n(3) Any person who shall forge or, without authority, sign any evidence o f proof of\nfinancial responsibility, or who files or offers for filing any such notice or evidence\nof proof knowing or having reason to believe that it is forged or signed without\nauthority, shall be fined not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000) or imp risoned\nnot more than one (1) year, or both.\n(4) Any person who shall violate any provision of KRS 187.290 to 187.620 for which\nno penalty is otherwise provided shall be fined not more than five hundred dollars\n($500) or imprisoned not more than ninety (90) days, or both.\n(5) Any person who shall violate the provisions of KRS 187.650 shall be fined not\nmore than one hundred dollars ($100) or imprisoned not more than thirty (30) days,\nor both.","path":["KRS Chapter 187"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=6283","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:41Z","sha256":"d07e2d784897bc83cdc1263913cd88517f8c4ef9e0ed53dc95d430491c2db037","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-187.650","next":"us-ky/krs-188.010"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
