No person while on a highway shall\noperate a motor vehicle with the muffler cut out or removed. No cutout shall be so\narranged or c onnected as to permit its operation or control by the driver of any\nmotor vehicle while in position for driving.\n(2) No person shall modify the exhaust system of a motor vehicle or an off highway\nvehicle in a manner which will amplify or increase the noise  emitted by the motor\nof such vehicle above that emitted by the muffler originally installed on the vehicle.\nThe original muffler shall comply with all of the noise requirements of KRS\nChapter 224 and regulations promulgated pursuant thereto.
