{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-189.214","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 189.214","heading":"Recreational vehicles -- Access to public highways -- Definitions.","body":"(1) As used in this section:\n(a) \"Appurtenances\" means the following devices that do not extend beyond the\nmaximum vehicle width as established in subsection (2) of this section by\nmore than six (6) inches on either side of a recreational vehicle:\n1. Hand holds for entry or egress;\n2. Load-induced tire bulge;\n3. Rearview mirrors;\n4. Splash and spray suppressant devices;\n5. Turn signal lamps; and\n6. Shade awnings and their mounting hardware;\n(b) \"Recreational vehicle\" has the meaning set forth in KRS 186.650(4); and\n(c) \"Width exclusion safety devices\" means the following devices that do not\nextend beyond the maximum vehicle width as established in subsection (2) of\nthis section by more than three (3) inches on either side of a recreational\nvehicle:\n1. Corner caps;\n2. Lift pads;\n3. Rear or side door hinges and protective hardware;\n4. Rain gutters;\n5. Side marker lamps;\n6. Tarps and tarp hardware; and\n7. Wall variations from a true flat.\n(2) A recreational vehicle that is one hundred two (102) inches in width and is\nregistered under KRS 186.050, 186.655, or an equivalent statute from another state\nshall have access to any public state -maintained highway in Kentucky and the\nvehicle's appurtenan ces and width exclusion safety devices shall not exceed the\nlimits defined in this section.
