{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-189.2716","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 189.2716","heading":"Annual overdimensional permit for transporting steel products to a","body":"Kentucky riverport -- Width and mileage limitations -- Administrative\nregulations.\n(1) As used in this section, \"riverport\" means a riverport facility established by a\nriverport authority under KRS 65.520.\n(2) In order to promote economic development and retain jobs within this state, subject\nto KRS 189.222, the department shall promulgate administrative regulations\npursuant to KRS Chapter 13A governing the issue of annual p ermits for the\noperation of motor vehicles that are transporting steel products in divisible or\nnondivisible loads on state highways from a facility manufacturing products in this\nstate to a riverport within this state, and whose dimensions exceed the limi ts for\nvehicle width prescribed by this chapter.\n(3) The maximum width dimension for an overdimensional permit issued in accordance\nwith this section shall be ten (10) feet.\n(4) A motor carrier transporting steel products in divisible or nondivisible loads  from a\nfacility manufacturing steel products in this state may apply for an annual\noverdimensional permit pursuant to subsection (2) of this section. An application\nfor a permit shall identify the route to be used. The permit shall be valid twenty -\nfour (24) hours a day, but shall be limited to movements of steel products within the\nstate of not more than seven (7) road miles from the manufacturing facility.\n(5) The department shall promulgate administrative regulations in accordance with\nKRS Chapter 13A to set fees for permits established under this section.","path":["KRS Chapter 189"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=55546","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:42Z","sha256":"d950b11c0861fe970b3a8210b86f674043a55fac2155f2f1e128803303d26727","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-189.2715","next":"us-ky/krs-189.2717"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
