{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-189.290","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 189.290","heading":"Operator of vehicle to drive carefully.","body":"(1) The operator of any vehicle upon a highway shall operate the vehicle in a careful\nmanner, with regard for the safety and convenience of pedestrians and other\nvehicles upon the highway.\n(2) A person shall not willfully operate any vehicle on any highway in such a manner\nas to injure the highway.\n(3) A person shall not willfully operate any vehicle on any highway in such a manner\nas to injure vehicles or equipment located in or near a highway work zone.\n(4) A person shall not operate any vehicle in a reckless  or negligent manner as to\nendanger persons or property in or near a highway, or in or near a highway work\nzone.\n(5) In addition to any other penalty, an operator who violates subsection (3) or (4) of\nthis section shall be subject to revocation of his or h er operator's license under KRS\n186.560.","path":["KRS Chapter 189"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=55551","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:42Z","sha256":"7eee9a0e6cdf77bc705a6358b2bed3f194aa65f612bec172a971d9e66bf48fdf","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-189.289","next":"us-ky/krs-189.292"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
