{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-189.345","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 189.345","heading":"Prohibitions against driving on left side of roadway.","body":"(1) No vehicle shall be driven on the left side of the roadway under the following\nconditions:\n(a) When approaching or upon the crest of a grade or a curve in the highway\nwhere the operator's view is obstructed within such distance as to create a\nhazard in the  event another vehicle might approach from the opposite\ndirection;\n(b) When approaching within one hundred (100) feet of or traversing any\nintersection or railroad grade crossing;\n(c) When the view is obstructed upon approaching within one hundred (100) fe et\nof any bridge, viaduct or tunnel.\n(2) The foregoing limitations shall not apply upon a one (1) way roadway, nor when an\nobstruction exists making it necessary to drive to the left of the center of the\nhighway; provided, any person so doing shall yield t he right-of-way to all vehicles\ntraveling in the proper direction upon the unobstructed portion of the highway\nwithin such distance as to constitute an immediate hazard, nor to the operator of a\nvehicle turning left into or from an alley, private road or driveway.","path":["KRS Chapter 189"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=6376","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:42Z","sha256":"f936e42711af786fc5d3d252b3274dcc2117e1fa04c8f0a7297af7ac493a320f","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-189.340","next":"us-ky/krs-189.350"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
